Columbus, Spring 2010: The Spring of Pretty Good Indie Concerts

Ever since Phoenix stopped in town a month and change ago, I've been whining about the dearth of really good concerts in town all winter long (hell, Camera Obscura, you're hitting up college towns and big cities with good indie scenes and you can't make another swing through Columbus?). I know this isn't necessarily the best time of year for shows, but even the Newport has a roof (for now) and generates enough body heat for even the coldest night trust me, I saw The Bravery on a chilly February night, right in front where we got shots of the drafts while waiting for the openers.

Then last.fm unveiled a string starting with Vampire Weekend on March 29, and culminating with Owen Pallett on April. It includes The XX and Girls playing the Wexner Center on April 5th, Passion Pit on the 31st at the Newport (again), plus Tegan and Sara.

Saving up cash is going to be a slightly agonizing experience for a few months.
